SweetSpot Roundup 11/12

I, Bill, apologize for the general lack of witty commentary in this morning's roundup. There comes a time in every lawyer's life, like once every other week, when he needs to work pretty much every waking minute, and this is one of those times. I'll save the commentary for when the title isn't self-explanatory. I endorse these links just as enthusiastically as ever...I just can't really sell you on them in the usual manner.

Capitol Avenue Club (Braves): Assessing the needs: Left Fielder

The View from the Bleachers (Cubs): In the News: Headlines Edition
News from around the Cubs and baseball. I challenge the first one: Harry Caray's restaurant bought the corked bat at auction, for something more than the prince given there. Saw it two days ago on my lunch break.

Redleg Nation: Three Reds Win Gold Gloves

Dodger Thoughts: After regrouping in San Diego, DePodesta takes on New York
It amazes me that DePo is still waiting on another GM job. Dude got hosed in LA.

Disciples of Uecker (Brewers): Free Agent Grenades
That's, apparently, a Jersey Shore reference. I just have no idea what to do with that.

Mets Today: 2010 Analysis: Luis Castillo

Crashburn Alley (Phillies): Quick Overview of Early Rumors
Greinke, Werth, Magglio, Burrell (ha!), Contreras, Takahashi, etc.

Ducksnorts (Padres): One-Hit Wonders: Jack Cust to Mike Dupree
Continuing the look at players who collected exactly one hit with San Diego.

Bay City Ball (Giants): What to Do With Juan Uribe

Fungoes (Cardinals): Worst values among Elias Type A and B free agents
Maybe they're sticking with the nonsensical Elias system just so bloggers will have plenty to write about?

Nationals Baseball: I went to Nats school to learn, not for a fashion show
Thoughts on the new unis. I think I've said this before, but: I really liked the old unis. Guess I was the only one.

Fire Brand of the American League (Red Sox): The Red Sox Should Not Trade for Adrian Gonzalez
That never really made sense to me either.

Sox Machine (White Sox): Royals fire up Central's hot stove; Wilder indicted

The B-List Indians Blog: Establishing the Baseline
Continuing to look at the team's third base problem.

The Daily Fungo (Tigers): Looking Back on Tigers Gold Glove Winners

Royals Authority: Tell Me There's a Method to Your Madness, Mr. Moore
Do people still think this is a possiblity? Really?

Nick's Twins Blog: Coming Up Short
Good lord, Twins, please don't cut J.J. Hardy.

It's About the Money, Stupid (Yankees): All This Time Later, People Still Don't Get "Moneyball"

Pro Ball NW (Mariners): Remembering Dave Niehaus
My favorite broadcaster not named Vin. Can't believe he's gone.

The Ray Area: Is Pena still an option? No.

Baseball Time in Arlington (Rangers): Attacking the Carl Crawford Idea
Crawford should play CF, but apparently hates it. So, yeah, won't work.

Ghostrunner on First (Blue Jays): Add Context for Flavor
The team's WAR figures adjusted for clutchiness.
